I tuned in ... and got hooked.
People with passion for books and writing are on two sides of the publication line: those who have walked the publication tightrope and landed safely on the other side with a book deal, and those who haven't. For the likes of me, ' a wanna-be published author,' thanks to podcast hosts who pour their time and energy into creating a treasure trove of all-things-writerly, I keep taking wobbly steps forward. Without these podcasts packed with author interviews and writing advice, I might have dropped my balance pole by now and fallen to the net below, without bouncing back up to keep going.
It turns out that authors are real people!
I've heard of many and varied paths to publication — some quick and some slow. Some authors come from formal training, and others are self-taught. This gives me hope! I know after listening to a gazillion interviews that it is possible for anyone with tenacity to place a toe on the tightrope, and walk forward, with any luck to the other side — as long as there is a love for writing and a desire to get better at craft.
Writing tips I've gleaned from podcasts — glittering gems — I've put into my writing to help it to shine. I'm forever grateful for the information, given freely, which I continue to learn from.
To the amazing authors and hosts I say, "THANK YOU!"
